Criminal History
Should the attorney provide Ms. Moore with a copy of his or her client's criminal history report, Ms. Moore can estimate the client's criminal history score and category based upon the computerized information.
Pre-Plea Guideline Analysis and Presentence Report Objections
As a Sentencing Guidelines Specialist Ms. Moore has extensive training and experience in applying the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. She is versed in all types of offenses and will conduct a review of the discovery in your client's case and provide an array of possible guideline applications based upon the discovery that was available. This can be helpful in trial preparation or evaluating possible Plea Agreements.
Following the disclosure of the Presentence Report, Ms. Moore can review the report and analyze it for any errors in guideline application or any instances in which a more lenient guideline application could have been equally appropriate and more beneficial for your client. Ms. Moore monitors changes in case law and can recognize when a Specific Offense Characteristic or other guideline application is no longer applicable. Ms. Moore can provide a written report to the attorney with any objections or challenges to the guideline calculations contained within the Presentence Report.
CJA Cases
In addition to retained clients, Ms. Moore is an approved vendor in the Northern District of Texas and is happy to submit the required forms to become so in any other districts as needed. Therefore, CJA Form 21s can be submitted for her expert services in Court-Appointed cases.

Presentence Report Interview
If the client is on bond, Ms. Moore is happy to meet with the client and prepare them for the Presentence Report interview, including filling out the necessary paperwork prior to the interview. She is also comfortable attending the Presentence Report interview in lieu of the attorney if the attorney and client are agreeable.
Mitigation and Departures and Variances
An individual accused and/or convicted of a federal offense is so much more than the offense; so much more than a single snapshot in time. Post Booker v. U.S. 543 U.S. 220 (2005), the Guidelines are advisory and include a method for variances and departures. Ms. Moore's mission is to assist counsel in presenting the client in the most positive possible light to achieve the best sentencing outcome. Ms. Moore's background and training in Court Services as well as her advanced degree in psychology have provided her with a unique skill set that enables her to identify any factors that highlight the client's strengths and assets and point out any mitigations or justifications for a variance or departure from the advisory guideline range.
Bureau of Prisons Issues
Ms. Moore can also assist with a variety of questions related to the Bureau of Prisons. This includes designation and classification as well as questions regarding reporting, medical, and psychological care and treatment.
